Managing Editor

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and evaluate book manuscripts for publication, considering market trends and audience appeal
  • Collaborate with authors and writers to provide editorial feedback, guidance, and support throughout the writing process
  • Edit and revise manuscripts for content, structure, style, grammar, and consistency
  • Coordinate with design, production, and marketing teams to ensure a seamless workflow from editing to publication
  • Conduct fact-checking, research, and permissions clearance as needed for book projects
  • Maintain editorial standards, guidelines, and best practices to uphold the quality of published books
  • Stay informed about industry trends, publishing standards, and evolving editorial practices

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in book editing or publishing
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with authors, writers, and cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of publishing industry standards, copyright laws, and editorial processes
  • Proficiency in editing software and tools, such as Apple Pages, Adobe Acrobat, and style guides
